One of our biggest goals in education is finding the time to build, grow and teach the whole child.

How do we do it all and do it effectively?

How do we teach the standards and place a big emphasis on SEL without adding too much to our own plates as educators?

You CAN prioritize SEL for students and teachers, and we're going to show you how.

One of the biggest things that we have learned in our 16 years of working with students of all ages is that a standard alone without the necessary skills that lead to academic success is useless.

In our time spent with students and educators from all across the country, we've learned how to provide access to knowledge that turns directly into skills in a healthy and productive way for everyone in the school building.

And we're going to teach you how to do the same thing in a new SEL course.

The course is called Sustainable SEL: How to Prioritize SEL for Your Students and Teachers.

And we've designed it for you.

We reached out to thousands of educators asking for your greatest needs right now and moving forward.

Over 85% of you said that you needed resources and information to develop a foundation of SEL practices in your classrooms and schools.

This a practical course, backed in research with ideas that help you understand the importance of a foundation in SEL. And implement sustainable practices in an effective way.

Most importantly, it provides you with tools that you can start using immediately.

Keynote and Workshop Topics

Option 1: Full District Implementation

When this course was designed, it was designed for everyone! SEL is a systemic issue that applies to all educators, from the classroom to the lunchroom to the breakroom.

  • Leadership - (Superintendents, Directors, District Staff, Principals, Vice, Instructional Coaches) - They set the tone! Having this group do a paced study style approach will help leaders at the school buildings facilitate their school course study plan
  • Teachers - They are in the thick of it! Teachers meet weekly for staff meetings or department meetings… take 15-20 minutes each week to discuss the previous week’s assigned module. Take it slow and use it as a team-building tool. Even during these crazy times, it is incredibly important for the teachers to have a common experience and training, it increases accountability and allows healthy collaboration to occur among the most unlikely of groups.
  • Staff - They are equally in need of their own SEL training! Their training and impact with these SEL skills can completely reshape the feel and culture of the school. The community and students that interact with the staff on a daily basis will start to see a shift which in return changes the external narrative of the school. This course will also help with their own self-care, which is vital. Make sure you include STAFF!

Option 2: A true Self-Paced Approach!

Teachers have 1000 things on their plate, if adding more work with due dates and weekly goals is too much, then take it at your own pace! At the end of the course, there is a certificate of completion that can be downloaded and turned in for proof of completion. This allows each teacher to complete it on their own schedule with no extra pressure.

Option 3: Package a Professional Development Event with Hope and Wade!

If you are launching an SEL initiative or if your school year’s theme is focused around SEL, then this option is perfect for your school or district!

We are beyond excited about the release of Hope and Wade’s brand-new online self-paced course focusing on one of education’s biggest goals which are finding the time to build, grow and teach the whole child. Putting the two (online courses and speaking) together is an effective and efficient way to train your teachers properly in such a short turnaround. We fully understand you are doing everything you can to prepare your teachers to be the best for students and for themselves, we look forward to joining you in those efforts.

This is why when districts and schools choose the bulk-purchase and PD package option for the online self-paced course as a community, we are seeing incredible results, a community sharing ideas, and everyone working towards the same goal...Sustainable Social Emotional Learning!

Additional SEL Course Focused Speech Topics and Descriptions

“Preparing You to Take On SEL for your school community”

IMPORTANT - This topic is designed for audiences BEFORE starting the Online Self-Paced Course “Sustainable SEL: Prioritizing Social-Emotional Learning for Teachers & Students” - www.gytocourses.com

PD Type: Workshop

Designed Length: 60-90 minutes

Platform: Virtual or In-Person

Target Audience: Teachers, Administrators (school and district level), Staff

Many times, Administrator and Teacher Training or Professional Development is thrust upon educators with little onboarding, foundation, or build-up. We have found this to be an issue with too many “shot-in-the-arm” or “one-and-done” PD experiences. When taking on a large district or school-wide initiative we understand the task of properly integrating and training solid SEL strategies, takeaways, and practices… and it is CRUCIAL.

Not only will SEL be the focus of the session, but we will also introduce the content through the lens of self-care, retention, and best practices for student engagement within the SEL training they will receive from the online course.

After (or even during) this session, we anticipate teachers logging into their Sustainable SEL training with an eager to learn spirit and fully prepared mind.

“Taking SEL to the Next Level!”

IMPORTANT - This topic is designed for audiences AFTER completing the Online Self-Paced Course “Sustainable SEL: Prioritizing Social-Emotional Learning for Teachers & Students” - www.gytocourses.com

PD Type: Workshop (Interactive/Collaborative)

Designed Length: 60-90 minutes

Platform: Virtual or In-Person

Target Audience: Teachers, Administrators (school and district level), Staff

After you complete the online course, either self-paced or together as a school or district learning initiative, this session answers the “NOW What?” or “Ok, How Do I…?” some teachers can ask. We understand the amount of content, resources, practical takeaways provided within the course can be overwhelming… this session allows your training investment to go to the NEXT LEVEL!

In a healthy SEL-enriched community, communication and collaboration are paramount. Hope and Wade will spend 30-45 minutes providing bonus content, lessons, stories, and strategies on how to take the course’s content into action. The remainder of the time will be designed as an interactive and collaborative workshop to implement what was learned and help apply it to their work, classrooms, students, staff, etc.

At the end of this session, administrators and teachers will feel fully empowered and equipped to engage every area of their work with a healthy SEL lens so we can all be difference-makers in our student’s lives.
